Norman Bird Sanctuary has been connecting people with nature for more than 70 years. With over 300 acres and seven miles of hiking trails, there is plenty to see at all times of the year. You can bring your binoculars and go for a walk along our well-maintained trails. You will be sure to see a variety of local and migratory birds, depending on the season. We are monitoring updates regarding the spread of Coronavirus, or COVID-19, and taking steps to protect the health and safety of our members, visitors, and staff. With that in mind, we are asking all guests to please buy their trail passes online or by phone before hiking. Guests can also pay cash for passes using the donation box provided outside the main entrance of the welcome center.
After School Programs are offered in weekly 1-hour sessions. Each class can accommodate a minimum of 7 students to a maximum of 12 students, Grades K-5. Program sessions are offered for 4-7 weeks, and can be taught to children of a single or two consecutive grade levels (i.e. K-1, 3-4).
Please note that due to the multi-visit nature of these programs, our after school partnerships are primarily focused in Newport County.
