Our Camps

It’s amazing what new discoveries you make when you look up from your screen and experience the world around you! Camp summers offer kids a chance to unplug – but not just from technology. Camp also gives kids a mental and emotional break from school and other pressures they might experience outside of camp.

At camp, we rarely stand still. We want kids to explore it all! Whether it’s hiking through the trails, venturing to new heights on the ropes course, or exploring a new sports skill, we know that trying something new and succeeding boosts our kids’ confidence and helps them look forward to new challenges.

Now more than ever, it’s critical for our camps to help kids develop positive and engaging relationships. Through values-based lessons and collaborative activities, campers learn to work together and to overcome challenges in proactive, constructive ways. To support our campers’ emotional well-being, our staff work intentionally to help kids connect to each other and to our camp community.

Our Camps offer:

  • Curriculum of fun, engaging activities

Each day at camp offers a balance of activities that expose campers to new age-appropriate, challenging, and fun experiences. From active games to group challenges and creative projects, our camps offer fun-filled days that promote physical activity, creativity, learning, and teamwork in a welcoming atmosphere.

  • Highly trained staff of professional role models

Our enthusiastic crew of camp staff leads campers in their daily activities. We select our camp staff based on their experience, attitude, skills, and ability to demonstrate the YMCA’s core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. All of our counselors attend an intensive staff training once they’ve completed our Y’s rigorous screening process, which includes criminal and sexual offender background checks (CORI and SORI).

  • Focus on water safety

At the YMCA, we prioritize water safety all year round. That especially extends to our summer camps. That’s why swim lessons are included in our camp programs. At camp, recreational swimming is monitored closely by our lifeguards and program staff, and all swimmers must demonstrate their swimming competency before swimming without flotation assistance or moving into the deeper parts of the pools.
