Join local artist Davison Bolster to learn about the dreamy medium of pastels, their history, how to use them safely, as well as how to lay out and complete a pastel painting. Using photos as sources, discover the possibilities of pastels.
Davison grew up watching his grandfather Gilbert Davison Johnson paint pastels, and he inherited his pastels upon Gil’s passing in 1967. Over the years, he mastered many other mediums––and finally in 2022, inspired by the century-old French pastels and natural beauty of New England, Davison taught himself how to use them.
Students will be responsible for bringing their own pastels, and a mask if desired.
Paper and other supplies will be provided.
The class is limited to 15. Pre-registration is required.
