Community MusicWorks

The mission of Community MusicWorks is to create a cohesive urban community through music education and performance that transforms the lives of children, families, and musicians. Our model is centered around the teaching, mentoring, program design, and performance activities of our musicians-in-residence, the MusicWorks Collective. CMW applies an innovative approach to arts education that highlights the relationship between music and social change. Our primary goals are to facilitate young people’s paths toward critical awareness of their lives and empower them to use music as a tool to imagine and achieve new possibilities for themselves.
